About Course
Turn a vague intention to back things up into a small, testable recovery routine. This written course explains the difference between synchronising files and keeping recoverable backups, then helps you identify the photos, documents and email information that matter most. You will consider where those items live, how often they change and what a usable restoration would look like.
The practical work uses harmless sample files. You will design a backup arrangement with more than one failure boundary, plan a scheduled copy and restore a sample into a separate location. The lessons cover common traps such as cloud-only placeholders, permanently connected drives, missing encryption recovery keys and assuming a successful backup notification proves everything can be recovered.
Allow approximately 25 minutes for reading and initial practice; the first full backup may take much longer. No particular software or subscription is required for the written exercises. Do not erase, format or replace existing storage to complete this course. You will finish with an inventory, a realistic schedule and a restoration record that makes your next backup check more useful than simply looking for a green tick.
